A bit of a delay in our blog post this week. Preparations for St. Patrick’s Day in Westport are well under way for Friday of this week. I hope to get some photos of the parade and display for the next post. St. Patrick’s Day in Westport sees the official launch of Westport 250 which we in IMM 2017 are delighted to be a part of!
The Westport 250 Launch Celebration takes place on St. Patrick’s weekend and features:
- Thursday, 16th – ‘Patrick’ the hit theatre show in Westport Town Hall
- Friday, 17th – A full day’s festivities on the national holiday, open-air traditional session at 1.00pm followed by the 250 themed parade culminating in open-air ceili and street musicians.
- Saturday, 18th – At noon, the Piper’s Trail and animated street theatre Westport Story will take off. Later on, the Harbour at Westport Quay is the location for Saturday’s festival programme featuring street performers including Arcana’s giant U2 heads and a spectacular fireworks extravaganza at dusk.
If any of you are planning to hit Westport this weekend, you will have plenty going on to keep you busy.
The IMOC members will be gathering from before 12pm at the Topaz on the N5 Castlebar Road on Friday before heading into town to take part in the festivities. Pop over if you are about for a chat. Its looking like it might be a little less Springtime and a little more Winter so make sure you wrap up warm.
Tickets – 2 days to go!!!
As you are all aware at this stage, besides a day for fun and frolics, March 17th is that date which we at the IMM 2017 decided would be the date that ticket prices would be increased. What date could be more memorable for an Irish IMM? So, in the last blog post reminder, our ticket prices are increasing from the standard €70 to the new price of €95.
Tickets will change price at 23.30 on Friday 17th.
NOTE: It will not happen at midnight due to ticketing constraints.
Cox’s Bar and Steakhouse
As we mentioned previously, we are delighted to have Cox’s Bar and Steakhouse as our partner in providing bar facilities for the IMM. In addition to this, we are delighted to announce that they will be serving creamy pints of Guinness, Budweiser, Hop House 13 Lager and more on tap in the wonderful Big Red Barn entertainment facility.
As we finalise all the small things in relation to your liquid refreshments, we will keep you all informed.
Share your Mini Competition
In a little bit of housekeeping from last week, we would like to again congratulate Adam Chambers for this wonderful picture of his Mini. He had 33 like in the time he posted it. While it may not sound like many, we had over 380 posted pictures and 658 likes over all of the photos.
A worthy winner as i’m sure you would all agree.
